Python binding/wrapper for OpenSync API ======================================= These are the Python bindings for the OpenSync library. They should be a fairly direct map to the C API functions. Some quick notes: * data types (structs) OSyncStructName are bound as python classes named StructName * functions operating on classes are bound as methods of the above classes, for example osync_plugin_set_name(plugin, name) is replaced by the python method set_name(name) on an object of the Plugin class * constants such as OSYNC_ERROR_GENERIC have the OSYNC_ prefix stripped, ie. they are defined in the module as opensync.ERROR_GENERIC * apart from functions with function pointer arguments, the binding should be complete, ie. everything in the C API should be callable from Python * some python convenience code has been added, for example the Plugin object has a name attribute, so you can call plugin.name = "Foo" instead of plugin.set_name("Foo") * errors returned by OpenSync functions are automatically raised as exceptions of the opensync.Error class, which carries the relevant data about the error For further details, please see the SWIG source in the *.i files, and feel free to improve this documentation!
