.TH "pproxy" "1" "" "" "" .SH "NAME" pproxy \- A POP3 proxy server .SH "SYNOPSIS" .B "pproxy" [\--help] [\--version] [\-l \fBFILE\fR, --logfile \fBFILE\fR] [\-r \fBDIR\fR, --rundir \fBDIR\fR] .SH "DESCRIPTION" .PP \fBpproxy\fR is a POP3 proxy\&. It will wait for username and password from the POP3 client and authenticate the user\&. It will then ask the pcheckd(8) deamon on the POP3 server whether the mailbox is empty\&. If it is empty it will keep talking to the client, "simulating" the empty mailbox\&. If there is mail in the mailbox it will connect to the pserv(8) POP-Server, tell it which mailbox to open and then just forward data back and forth between the client and the server\&. .PP For details see the POPular manual\&. .SH "OPTIONS" .TP --help Print short help screen\&. .TP --version Print version information\&. .TP -l \fBFILE\fR, --logfile \fBFILE\fR Logfile to use\&.
